This is a non-tilt style spiral balance with a blue bushing at its tip. It has a bow tie shaped device installed in the end of the spiral rod. The bow tie engages a balance foot that has been installed on the bottom edge of the window (vent) with a dual hook protruding out from the corner for the bow tie to engage. It is often used on wood windows, but may be found on other windows as well. This balance is 29 in. long and 9/16 in. in diameter. It is charged or wound up by using the Prime-line H 3787 Tensioning Tool.
